The purpose of this application is to help users to understand the meaning of the various glyphs used in Wicca. It includes a list of all the most common runes.
What is a rune?
A rune is a little symbol that is typically used to represent a certain letter in the alphabet. For example, the letter 'A' is represented by the first and second strokes of the top right hand in the figure below:
This is the same letter that is represented by the number 10 in the numerals system. However, the meaning of the two symbols is completely different.
A typical use of the runes is to perform divination. To do so, the user takes a piece of paper, draws a line on it, and then touches the tip of his finger to the line.
